Can you help me? I keep meaning to ask how to do a couple of things I've seen on other blogs... I've tried to do all of these unsuccessfully, and searched for further information and still can't seem to figure it out. Hoping you can help. (Please?)
1. How do you change the word "Comments" at the foot of your posts? I notice some people have phrases like "7 Encouraging Words" or "5 people had something to say", etc. Can anyone enlighten me?
2. How do you create a strikethrough in a blog post? I've tried by creating a Word document using strikethrough, but when I transfer it to Blogger, it disappears...Can anyone clear that up?
3. Finally, can you tell me how to make my header photo fit within the box? I've noticed there are many others that look like mine (overlaps on one side) and it's no big deal, just one of those little things that bug me (yes, I'm a bit OCD). I figured while I'm asking questions...it can't hurt! LOL!
Thanks guys...I know I can count on you! ; )

Sorry, you're asking the wrong girl.
As to the snack cakes...how do they compare with my "thank you" brand chocolate cake? Just asking.
And Mandisa...that girl's got some pipes. I love her journey and her music! I must get this new CD.
Thanks for checking in Tracy. Have an awesome week.

Hi, Tracy! Well, I can't help with all of your questions, but I do know one of them.
For the comments, got to your blog Layout in Blogger. You should get a layout of your blog showing a Blog Posts section and then the various gadgets in your sidebar. In the box labeled 'Blog Posts' click on Edit in the bottom right hand corner. You'll see here several items that can be changed. The fourth one down is for the comments and in the text box you can type in whatever you want your comment tag to show.
Hope this helps some! Have a great day!
Thanks to the Melanies out there, and not to me. I would love to help you, but I am still learning many things myself. I did have some of the same questions you did. I liked your comments on my blog this morning. You will receive it soon.
I too would like to know how to do the strikethrough... I will be back to see if anyone knows how so I can learn too!
And I never noticed that your picture overlaps, I think it looks wonderful!
Have a great day!
Blessings!
I know the strikethrough one! You type in < strike > to begin the strikethrough and < /strike > to end the strikethrough. (No spaces) If blogger blocks it out is the < character, then the word strike and then close with the other charcter. To end it put a / in front of the word strike and enclose it with the <'s.
Glad Melanie was able to help with the comments one. I don't even know how to put text in a box, LOL.
I read to make sure which ones were answered. I knew the one about comments. I'm glad to know about strike through. I wish blogger had a notepad area where we could store all these hints. I guess with use we'll have the strike through memorize.
As far as the header. I got mine adjusted by actually going into the html and adjusting the body width, alignment and then the side bar. It was all trial and error and I couldn't tell you how to do it again. I also did some major changes to the fonts that are not in the layout but rather hidden and defaulted in the html. I did pretty good work for knowing nothing but I don't know that I could ever repeat it.
Love,
Paula
hi there friend!
this is where I go to 'educate' myself about the blog world.
it is called SPLIT DECISIONZ

I don't think the author of this blog is posting any longer, however she graciously has left her site up so that we can still gain from all the 'how-to's' !!
You can run down her list of categories found on the left sidebar... and you can find may instructions on how to do the strike thru thing, change the comment wording, add 3 coloumns, or make bloclqoutes and such....
a wealth of bloggy knowledge there for FREE!!!
oops I meant the rightside bar...
So glad you asked these questions so that I could learn some new things! Now, if I can only get the strike through thing down I will be very happy!
I was having the same problem with my header but have recently eliminated the border just by using the same color as my background. Glad to know how to fix it in the future... if I am brave enough to try it out!
Just wanted to tell you I did the strike through and it worked... hooray!!!
Thanks again for asking these questions:)
Glad to know how to do the strike through now! Maybe someday they will give us a new kitchen sink. I know Word Press has it.
I just changed the border color, but it still doesn't match up correctly. Hopefully you'll find a fix. I'll keep watching your header! ;)
Have a blessed week.
Thanks to Melanie, I've replaced "comments" too. Bless you! This was a helpful post. :~D
Well apparently someone else beat me to the punch here. Since you've asked these questions, I think I'll post the answers to my designs blog so I can help others who probably have the same questions you do! The strikethrough can be even quicker just by using the letter "s" instead of the whole word "strike". It works, try it!
